It is, therefore, desirable for both parents to be committed Christians and active members of a church. In the case where one parent fulfils this requirement, the application will be considered. 3) Should the requirements of point 2 not be met, the application will still be considered if we have agreement from both parents on all matters, as set out in this handbook and on the application forms. 4) All learners undergo diagnostic testing to ascertain their level of performance. This enables us to determine at what level the specific learner begins, and allows us to formalize the learner's academic path. This is not an IQ test and has no bearing on the child's admission. 5) Both parents are required to attend a Parent Interview and a Parent Orientation workshop. 6) Both parents are required to view the "Presenting School of Tomorrow" video prior to the interview. 7) The registration and diagnostic testing fee must accompany your application.
Due to Bay Christian School being a fully private school and since our funding is completely dependent upon school fees, we would ask that you consider instituting a monthly stop order to cover your child's fees. This will go a long way to ensuring the effective day-to-day running of the school. Because we only accept between 10 and 12 children per supervisor, you can appreciate that our budget is tight. Your financial commitment to the school is for school fees payable over 12 months. Subsequent enrolments receive a discounted monthly rate. The school fees cover your child's tuition and books (PACES). In the event of learners performing beyond their level, they will start on their expanded curriculum. Should this be the case with your child, you will be charged for the extra books used.
School uniform is worn in the interest of learners, parents and staff. It prevents competition between learners and is also the most cost effective option. The uniform consists of a sky blue golf shirt and navy blue shorts or skirts for the girls, white socks and white running shoes. For winter, the uniform consists of the school track-suit, the golf shirt, white socks and running shoes. A navy blue V-necked school jersey may be worn under the track-suit on cold days. A more detailed list has been added to your Admission Pack. All uniform items are to be well marked with the learner's name. In Christ we trust! |
