Challenges for BIEC
As a college, BIEC faces many different challenges.

Financial
The unparalleled commitment of BIEC to supporting its students financially, when financial concerns would otherwise prevent them from studying at BIEC, means that there is very often a real shortage of money to fund any other highly important projects. These include supplying lecturers with their salaries and expanding the satellite programme by employing people (often BIEC graduates) to run them, amongst other things. Many of these projects cannot be supported by local churches because they do not have the means to support them.

Publicity
As a theological college, BIEC is not very well-known, both within and beyond Port Elizabeth itself. This makes it difficult to make people aware of the great needs that BIEC has, and as a result it has been hard to ask people to commit to supporting BIEC materially or in prayer. Both of these are crucial ¡V BIEC would not, and will not, function without them.

Effectiveness
BIEC is always seeking to expand its horizons, and to preach the Word more effectively so that the students might take the same Word, faithfully taught and carefully applied, and teach it to their congregations. In order to do this, it is vital that BIEC continues to grow in size: there are plans for 16 Villiers Road to grow and to make more provision for those in the Walmer location to learn from God¡¦s Word as a satellite is placed there.

HOW TO SUPPORT BIEC?
With BIEC facing all of these challenges, there is a huge need for people to support BIEC both materially and in prayer. There are several ways in which you can support and be involved with the work of BIEC.
