Thermal & Acoustic ceiling insulation
PROTECT YOUR BUDGET, SAVE THE ENVIRONMENT
The growing energy crisis has resulted in the immediate need for energy conservation. Products that can help reduce your current electricity usage need to be considered. Efficient insulation reduces the consumption of fossil fuels used in the production of electricity thus reducing green house gas emissions. Insulation keeps you cool in summer, warm in winter, and most of all, saves you money and energy in the long run.
WHY INSTALL INSULATION IN YOUR CEILING?
Ceiling insulation is perceived as a "luxury" and often overlooked to save money when building a home. It should in fact be seen as a necessity, as it costs less that 1% of the total building cost per square metre offering a payback in less than 3 years, with continued savings thereafter.
ISOVER'S PINK SOLUTION - AEROLITE
Worldwide, ISOVER is the name that stands for excellence in insulation. Aerolite, also known as Think Pink, is ISOVER's glasswool thermal and acoustic insulation solution. Glasswool is a very energy efficient environmentally-friendly product and Aerolite's new fibre technology also ensures a much softer surface than before, making it more user friendly.
R-VALUE
All bulk insulation materials have an R-value to determine their effectiveness. The R-value is the ability of the product to resist the transfer of heat and is the most important factor when selecting insulation. The higher the R-value, the more effective the insulation properties of the product.
The energy efficiency standard (SANS 204) for buildings has been published and South Africa is divided into six climatic zones according to their humidity and temperature variations. Legislation of insulation will soon be introduced for most new buildings stipulating the minimum R-value required per climatic region. Aerolite has a variety of thicknesses to comply with the R-value stipulated.
