MERCY MINISTRIES

Testimony of Eva Francisca Rebeira - Brazil
I am 66 years old. I had already been living on the street for 5 years then, begging. I spent all the money I received on alcohol and was almost permanently drunk. As a result I became ill and could not walk.

Then, two years ago, I met a Christian. She told me about Jesus, who could change my life. She took me to a soup kitchen. Three months late I was saved and baptised and have regularly attended a Christian church since then. Today I work as a cook in a soup kitchen, and want to work here as long as I live. I can even donate 10% of my pension to mission work. Every Saturday and Sunday I share my experiences with people on the street, and invite them to church.

At Cross Mission meals are served to more than 100 people every day. For some this is their only meal for the day.

The cry for help of a street child

My last resort
It was cold in P.E.
I was shelterless in Newton Park
I was very hungry
I was stinking badly
I had no nice friends
I was sleeping without blankets

Last resort, you help me
Now I am sleeping in a nice house
Eating like a king
I am smelling nice
I have good and real friends
I am dressed nicely

May God bless all of you Maranatha staff
I wish you luck every step of your life
You are the best caring people
I've ever seen in my life
Thank you Maranatha staff you are my last resort
