A LITTLE HISTORY
Cyprus holds 10,000 years of history, which is uncommon for many lands. Many rulers conquered Cyprus. The discovery of copper, "kypros" in Greek, drew the Greeks to Cyprus where they left their Greek influence and culture, which still remains today. A land torn so many times, Cyprus finally received independence in 1960.

EBE EXCITEMENT
During the port visit, the board members of Educational Book Exhibits Ltd. (the UK registered charity responsible for the ship) came to the ship for a board meeting, and to expand their first-hand knowledge of the ship and ship's community. They were treated as honoured guests by the crew and staff of the ship, who also appreciated the opportunity to learn more about the vital role played by board members. Board Chairman Brian Chilver told the ship's company how their attitude and acceptance played an important part in decisions made during the board meeting, which focused on the long-term future of the vessel.

GOD'S HAND IN OPEN AIR EVENTS
Presentations in the streets strongly displayed God's handy work, showing that He prepares the hearts of the audience - small or large. Without large crowds gathering around, one team from the ship reached the hearts of two specific people. Wilhelm (Russia) met a local Russian speaker, who attentively watched the sketch-board message. It was a "one person" show. A seed was planted, and Wilhelm was able to give the man a copy of the Jesus film in Russian.

ORCHESTRATED UNITY
After 6 years of separation, the pastor of a church near the open-air produce market was reunited with an old man whom Carol (Mexico) had shared her faith with the day before. In joining this pastor and his church, they had the opportunity to meet this elderly man once again, and God had answered Carol's prayers of bringing him to the pastor. They lived in the same village, and the old man was part of the pastor's congregation until he left and contact was lost. The man made a fresh commitment to faith, and the pastor will remain in contact with him.

WOMEN'S FELLOWSHIP CONTINUED
After a successful Woman's Conference the previous week, many ladies returned for Ladies tea. One young believer's curiosity and excitement brought her back to the ship time after time. Her yearning for fellowship drew her to attend events such as International Night and build relationships with those on board."It's been especially encouraging to meet so many people who are involved in mission work so early on in my Christian walk," she said. "I know God has placed in me a heart for the mission field. I feel incredibly blessed and encouraged having heard so many testimonies." LOGOS II has the great opportunity to touch the lives of those who don't have faith in God as well as those who do. It is a blessing to be able to refresh and encourage many in the ports visited by the ship.

SERVING ON AND OFF THE WATCH
Severin's (Romania) week of watch didn't seem very promising, until he began to use his off time to share Christ's love with other seamen. His heart leapt with joy when he saw a Romanian vessel in the port. He shared his faith with two workers on the vessel, one of whom came to faith.
