ATTACK ON THE WORLD TRADE CENTRE AND PENTAGON
11 SEPTEMBER 2001SPECIAL REPORT
There has been unprecedented media coverage of the events of Tuesday 11th September 2001. The world watched in shock as terrorists hijacked US airliners and used them as flying bombs to attack the World Trade Centre in New York and the Pentagon in Washington. A fourth hijacker crashed in Pennsylvania. The aftermath of the attack has seen thousands missing presumed dead as the twin towers of the WTC collapsed. We continue to wait as the prospect of military reprisals looms. Thousands of emails in prayer support have been circulating. As Christians we need to look "behind the scenes" at the spiritual implications of these events. On these pages we try to present a few viewpoints ......

The
National Cathedral. Washington, D.C. September 14, 2001
THE
PRESIDENT:

great a loss, and today we express our nation's sorrow. We come
before God to pray for the missing and the dead, and for those who
love them...."
THE
TOWERS HAVE FALLEN AND WE MISSED THE MESSAGE
(posted 10 October 2001)
Years
ago, in 1973, God gave me a prophetic word called, The Vision. I
distributed it in a book and when the Lord gave me that vision is was
so frightful I begged with God, please, I can't deliver this word
without some hope. You've got to give me some hope. I feel hopeless
by what I see coming. If you want me to... you have to give me
something and the Lord did. It was five words, "God has
everything under control." Having received that word is the only
way I could release the message. I say again today, God has
everything under control. Pastor David Wilkerson
LESSONS
FROM A DAY OF UNBELIEVABLE HORROR
(posted 10 October 2001)
The
terrorists' attacks on the U.S.A.'s most prestigious buildings
Tuesday morning, September 11, 2001 rocked the confidence of an
entire nation-and many people around the world. I have called this
Terrible Tuesday. Questions abound, as they should: What does this
mean? Why did this happen? Where is God? Why does God allow evil?
What can I do? Are we still in danger? Are we going to war? What will
the future hold?

What
should we be praying for? I see a combination of things being the
central focus of prayer. Knowing that "we have not because we
ask not" (James 4:2), this is the time to ask for the things so
desperately needed. I see our needs as the following .......... (Jack Hayford)
MESSAGE
FROM WOODROW KROLL
(President
and Senior Bible Teacher - Back to the Bible)
That
apparent terrorist attacks could bring such death and destruction to
unsuspecting people is absolutely unthinkable. Yet the numbers of the
dead and wounded from these attacks will be extraordinary. In the
midst of our stunned disbelief, as Christians we must respond
appropriately. How are we to do so? Here's what I glean from God's
Word ........

A
WORD TO THE GLOBAL CONSPIRACY THEORISTS
At
this time of sorrow, stress and a rising level of anger, it is
inevitable that many have something to say, myself included! However,
what is extraordinary is the way in which some of the
"prophets" currently seem to be exceeding themselves in
contradiction -- and all around this one issue - it's a huge issue:

GRAHAM'S MESSAGE
National
Day of Prayer and Remembrance
......
But today we especially come together in this service to confess
our need of God. We've always needed God from the very beginning of
this nation but today we need Him especially. We're facing a new kind
of enemy. We're involved in a new kind of warfare and we need the
help of the Spirit of God The Bible's words are our hope: "God
is our refuge and strength, an ever present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the
mountains fall into the heart of the sea" (Psalm 46:1,2, NIV).
