MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN KENYA
Together we can do it - anything and everything God calls us to do.
Alfonso and Adri Wessels have been called by God to help establish Christian cell churches amongst the least reached people groups of Kenya.
Facts about KenyaKenya is found on the east coast of Africa and it's 600 000 square kilometers are bisected from east to west by the equator. A far more dramatic division, the Great Rift Valley, passes from north to south on its way from Jordan to Mozambique. Altitudes range from sea level to higher than 5000 meters. Much of the north is desert and sparsely populated. The coast is a tropical paradise and the rest of the country is covered by rolling savannah.
About The PeopleThe people of Kenya are a heady mix, stemming from an ancient historical background. People from Asia and Arabia as well as from other parts of Africa have over time settled and mingled, forming new customs and cultures.
There are more than 70 tribal groups among the Africans in Kenya. 22 of these people groups have been labelled as least reached in Southern Africa in 1997 by the World Missions Centre. Last year the last 14 of these have been focused on and cell churches have been planted amongst each of them by mission students from many countries.
These newly planted churches are in the very remote areas of Kenya. There is a great need to co-ordinate, guide and encourage these churches to grow to maturity.
The anchor church of Kenya that forms the Hub contacted us to help in co-ordinating this process. Their vision is that approximately 14 churches in Nairobi will each adopt a newly reached people group and take responsibility to see them grow. In this process they need South African churches to help facilitate and encourage the Nairobi churches and the 14 people groups.
We have been full-time missionaries with the Masai and will continue the process started with them in Masailand.
Who will be involved?Our sending church, Ebed Christian Church, is our pastoral church and they will give covering and guidance to us.
The anchor church of the Kenya Hub, Harvest Christian Church, will work closely with us in facilitating the whole process in Kenya.
Other South African Churches that would like to be involved in Kenya or adopt a newly reached people group.

About our Sending CellOur sending cell, who are helping us with communication, logistics, professional assistance, moral and financial support, has a vision to be our support so we can focus on our God given task.
Our VisionOur vision is to help in the process of bringing the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the unreached people of Kenya. Our strategy is to visit these people groups, build relationships and determine their needs, then to communicate information to the Nairobi and South African Churches.
Our goal is to see these newly planted churches grow in maturity and receive oversight from other Kenyan Churches.
We believe our vision is only possible by the grace of God and by people praying for us continuously. We also know that God put this desire in our hearts and will equip us to do His work. To God be all the glory.

Prayer and giving financially in faith will help us to be more effective in doing what God has called us to do and God will credit you for each life changed for the glory of God.
