TRANSFORMATION AFRICA DAY OF PRAYER 2004
God is doing such great things in this nation at present, and never before have I felt more positive about such a time as this. Over the past few years we have seen many wonderful testimonies as a result of the Transformation initiative.
In 2001 we had the Newlands Transformation Day of Prayer that attracted 45,000 individuals praying for the city of Cape Town. A year later we had Transformation prayer events in eight stadiums across South Africa. Last year (2003) 77 cities / towns in South Africa held Day of Prayer events, with another 60 stadium events in 27 other African countries.
This year the Day of Prayer for Africa will be held on 2 May 2004. Our aim is to get all 58 countries in Africa (including the neighbouring islands) to participate. So far 51 African countries have committed themselves to host Day of Prayer events. It is estimated that over 10 million people will attend these prayer rallies across Africa. In South Africa no less than 203 cities / towns indicated that they would want to partake in this continental prayer event. This will be accompanied by radio and satellite television broadcasts across Africa and parts of Europe and the Middle East. The SABC have confirmed that their live broadcast will be aired on SABC 2 and SABC Africa from 14h00 till 15h30.
