THE BIBLE INSTITUTE APPOINTS A NEW LECTURER IN MISSIONS
The Bible Institute Eastern Cape is training effective pastors and other Christian leaders, especially for the churches and communities of the Eastern Cape. A key component of this training involves imparting an understanding of and passion for Christian mission. To facilitate our missions training we will be taking on board the Rev Bobby Benjamin in July 2004. He is an experienced pastor and scholar who has a burning concern to see God glorified in his work in the world. We believe God has called Bobby to the following three areas of work :
i. Researching missions
ii. Lecturing at the Bible Institute on missions
iii. Equipping the churches in our metropole to be committed to and involved in world missions.Bobby also has a particular heart for and expertise in mission to Muslims. He intends to continue researching Islam with a view to finding the best ways to help the church in South Africa face the threat of militant Islam, and to win Muslims to Christ. He will be willing and keen to share with local churches his specialized knowledge on Islam and offer training in practical outreach to Muslims in short courses and seminars. Some of the courses will be offered at BIEC, but others can be hosted by local churches.
