SCRIPTURE UNION BIBLE PROJECT 2004
We believe that the two key ingredients in Transformation are PRAYER and the BIBLE. As partners of Transformation Africa, Scripture Union South Africa would like to invite you to join us in a two-pronged Bible Campaign as part of your participation in Transformation Africa 2004:
- Collect modern-version Bibles (both used and new) and distribute them to those who cant afford Bibles, especially young people;
- Motivate and teach personal Bible reading in your church or fellowship.If we can motivate people to read the Bible and live by its principles, we will see transformation in South Africa. Sadly, however, many professing Christians neither read the Bible regularly nor live by its standards. Some do not have Bibles, others are not convinced of the necessity of studying Gods Word. Partner with us in this Spread the Word project to crush these barriers to transformation in the following ways:
Appoint a Bible champion in your church to drive the campaign;
- Mount a Bible reading campaign in your church;
- Send your champion to a Scripture Union training course on how to run an effective Bible Reading Workshop in your church;
- Challenge your members to meet a specific Bible collection target;
- Encourage them to collect used modern-version Bibles (in good condition), or buy or finance Bibles for the church to donate;
- Partner with a disadvantaged church whose members need Bibles.
Please note:
Bibles subsidised by the Bible Society are available at R36 from selected Scripture Union and other Christian bookshops.
Bibles can be delivered to SU regional offices for distribution to children and young people, or they can be distributed directly by your church.
We look forward to working with you for transformation through Gods Word.
May God bless you
