Dear Friends,

As 2007 draws to a close, we can look back with a sense of fulfillment. We will always view 2007 as the year that we focused on building relationships. Especially exciting was the progress made in building relationships between senior church leaders, local government and justice department leaders. A highlight for some of us would definitely be initiating the 9.2.5 marketplace ministry.

It is seldom that we have ended off one year so excited about the next. We really feel as a city we are about to reap the benefits of this relationship building year. Some of the more exciting projects that we believe will gain momentum next year are the “Youth Leadership Network” with its new fulltime office and the 24/7 prayer movement.

Towards the end of 2007 “Famsa” commenced two important initiatives. They have committed themselves to raising the bar in terms of making a difference to the welfare of families and the role of men serving as role models and mentors in the Bay. We look forward to supporting them and hope that we will be able to persuade all marketplace players to join them.

Finally, after winning a “World Leadership Award” in London, “Emmanuel Haven” is well positioned to implement the next exciting phase of its development. 2008 will see the launch of the Motherwell community radio station, “Emmanuel Haven fm” in partnership with Kingfisher fm; the launch of a 50 to100 bed “Step Down Centre” in partnership with Life Isidimeni; the launch of our first “School” group of grade R orphans and vulnerable children in partnership with the Harvest Christian Institute and finally the launch of our new clinic partners “That’s It” in partnership with the Foundation for Professional Development.

May you have a blessed Christmas and we hope that you are as excited as we are about 2008.

God Bless You
Trevor Jennings and fellow coordinators of TCN
