Relationships Between Christians Affect Our Praying ... (posted 02 July 2003)
BULLETIN ON REVIVAL NO 115-1If you travel, you will soon discover why God has not yet heard our prayers for a nationwide revival - there are evangelical Christians who do not respect their brothers and sisters in Christ in other denominations.
It is not language barriers, or the lack of the truth of the Gospel, but the refusal to love Christians in other churches that hinders our prayers for revival. Worldwide evangelism is hindered, not by not enough praying, but by unwillingness to love and accept others who love and want to obey Jesus Christ, love the Bible and claim salvation through the blood of Christ as we do.

Reformation or Revival? By Jim Elliff ... (posted 25 March 2002)
If you have been around me very long, you have heard me emphasize that the crying need, the absolutely desperate need of the hour, is reformation. You have also been aware that for years I have also longed for revival. Recently I was asked what the difference actually is, if any, between revival and reformation. This is an important question worthy of your precious time to think it through ...... Click here to read more.
Editorial - The Trouble is .........! ... (posted 1 March 2002)
by Tony Black - Editor, IRN NEWSHi everyone, I wrote this at a low point a few weeks ago. I hope it'll make you smile!
Quite a few folk have written saying they'd not heard much personal comment from me recently, and asking how I am these days. Since they all seemed to come at once, I guessed it might be a prompting for me to have a really good think about it, exactly where "I'm at", so to speak. So I did. For quite a while actually ...... Prepare your people for a Prayer Ministry ... (posted 26 February 2002)
Prayer is a form of ministry Christ desires for every believer. We are saved to pray for others. Prayer is the basis for whatever other ministry one has. Prayer can be the most important ministry in most Christians' lives. One of your greatest responsibilities is to help your people become a praying people, and to help them make their intercession effective for Christ. ......... Click here to read more.
Revival - the Practical Effects ... (posted 17 February 2002)
Revival results in greater power and purity in the Church. But what does this mean in practical terms? First, it means that long-standing habits of self-indulgence, that surrender neither to reason nor to God, will be broken when revival comes. Unconfessed sins that have been covered over for years will be brought to light. The interesting thing about the exposure of sin in times of revival is that the fear and shame which usually accompany such moments are thought of as nothing in comparison with the prospect of forgiveness and cleansing ......... Believe for Revival ... (posted 27 January 2002)
When my friend Floyd finished preaching and called for repentance, I was the first to my feet. During the message I had seen myself clearly, and I was ashamed. I publicly confessed my sin that day and asked the others at the conference for prayer. What was my sin? Embezzlement? Adultery? No, the Holy Spirit was convicting me of the sin of unbelief. In that stark moment of honesty I realized that I had low expectations of what God would do in my city.
What do you expect God to do in your city? Or to put it another way, who is your God? Is He the God of the Bible? Your God is only as big as what you expect of Him in space and time. What do you expect Him to do here on earth in this generation? ......... Click here to read more.
Corporate Hindrances to Revival ... (posted 12 December 2001)
Today's churches are praying for revival in unprecedented numbers. They are holding "revival meetings" and "renewal conferences" in the hope that these will hasten the coming of God's Spirit in power. Yet, despite these sincere efforts, many churches have allowed unbiblical theology, as well as secular practices, to become entrenched into their corporate lives. Thus, they impede the very work of God for which they are praying ......... Click here to read more.

HOLY SPIRIT IGNITES ZIMBABWE ... (posted 14 November 2003)
JOEL-NEWS-INTERNATIONAL-458 * 31 OCTOBER 2003 *
In Dzivarasekwa in Zimbabwe half of the people are facing starvation and crime is rampant. In the midst of this situation five Christian business men launched a gospel crusade. Joh Haasbroek reports:
"What we witnessed this past week was just a foretaste of what God has in store for us. Dzivarasekwa is known as a difficult area to penetrate spiritually. Many crusades held here in the past have been severely disrupted by drunkenness and rowdy people. We had no such problems. God's presence was tangible from the very first day of the crusade. Almost 800 people gave their lives to the Lord this week. Many were set free from demons by the power of Jesus' name.
"A young man came forward confessing a life of crime and theft. The Lord convicted him deeply, he gave his life to Jesus and was baptized. A young woman who was a prostitute and drunkard came forward at the altar call to give her life to Jesus. As she did so the demons inside her seized her and threw her to the ground. She was delivered by the power of the Lord Jesus and was baptized on Saturday.
"On Thursday night God's presence was so strong that for nearly an hour the people just worshiped the Lord Jesus, many on their knees. I have never seen this level of worship in a crusade where most people are either unbelievers or brand new Christians. When God manifests His presence people can only but worship Him! On Saturday night the Holy Spirit came on many.
Many were filled with the Spirit and spoke fluently in other tongues. An encounter with the risen and living Christ changes people forever!"

REVIVAL IN SWEDEN ... (posted 1 March 2002)
From: Carolin Lennartsson, Uppsala!! :-) !!!Hi there my friends!!!
Im sorry Swedes, this will be in English, cause my English speaking friends (that I love very much) just HAVE TO hear this too!!
I want to tell you what is happening in Sweden right now, in Uppsala, among the youth in Word of Life! This is real!! This is actually happening!! What is happening?, you say, Ill tell you. We have got the taste of revival!!
Last Friday in the youth meeting a girl, 14 or 15 years old, went up and told what had happened to her that week. She was one of those who went to some youth meetings and so on, but didnt have a living relationship with God, she wasnt living with God. As she stood there in her kitchen doing the dishes, she said to God If you really love me you have to show me that. As she said that a flood of God's presence entered the kitchen! It totally overwhelmed her! She ran to the bathroom and started to pray, scream and cry. She prayed and prayed like never before, prayed and cried. GOD had shown up!!
After one hour she finally came out tried to explain to her parents what was going on (as they of course wondered), but then a second wave came over her and she couldnt talk and had to run back into the bathroom and there she prayed another hour! God spoke to her and said that he was going to start something among the youth. Then she saw a vision. She saw in front of her the map of Sweden and small pins (small red ones) one for each school in Sweden. She started to do this sound with her fingers (snapped her fingers) and she didnt know why, but as she did so she saw every pin, one for each sound, put on fire, and finally all the pins were on fire and when they were, suddenly all the map was on fire, all of Sweden! Wow!! God told her he wanted to start revival on the schools and that he was going to use her in it. She saw herself and a lot of other young people standing praying and praying for these schools.
As she then came out of the bathroom one of her friends called (she didnt either walked with God). She had a question about maths for school, but this girl just said, no, we will not talk about maths now, we will talk about God! Then she told her friend what just happened and the friend started to cry on the phone. She asked this girl, can I come over to your place and pray for you? And of course she could! So she cycled as fast as she could to her friend and got to pray the prayer of salvation with her that night!! This is happening here, here in Uppsala!!
As she told this at the youth meeting God started to work! Joakim (our youth pastor) told all the youth that were in her age group to come forward and they started to pray! GOD CAME! These young people, most of them 14-16 years old were laying on the floor crying for there friends to get saved, for God to take away sin in there lives, and for God to fill them with his fire! They were doing this for hours!!! Some parents came to pick there children up at about 23:00 and the youth came out to meet them with tears running down there face saying I cant go home yet, we are praying, I cant stop! Come back later, or I will get home by myself somehow, I have to go and pray! and then went in and continued! Finally the people locking the church had to make them leave some time after midnight.
Then on the Saturday, the day after, many young people just called each other and got together and prayed! One group of about 13 young people had a 8 hour long prayer meeting!! They had to move from place to place, cause they started in an apartment, but after a while the parents thought they were making too much noise and took up the whole apartment, but they couldnt stop, so they just called some other parents, went there and continued, prayed and cried and called out to God!! And like that it continued, for 8 hours! This is still Uppsala, Sweden! :-)
On Monday in school the people in 7th and 8th grade had there usual morning prayer together before the lessons start. But that day the lessons had to wait. God showed up so strong and many of them met God as never before. It was impossible to stop praying, so they had to cancel the first lesson. Many of them got it right with God and were totally FILLED with his fire!! One guy had gone up to a youth leader. Hes eyes were filled with tears and with a weak voice he said I see my old class in my old school, I see them as real as if they were here. They are not saved. I have to go to them. I have to go to them.
Then on Tuesday it happened again at the morning prayer time! Lessons had to be cancelled coz GOD came! The same on Wednesday! Then it was the little older youth, 17-19 years old. As there morning prayer finally finished they still couldnt stop, so they gathered in the corridor praising God! One of the pastors in the church entered the corridor not knowing what was going on there, and he was nearly knocked to the floor by Gods presence as he entered the corridor!! God was there so strongly with his presence!! This is real! This is happening!!
Our youth pastor Joakim went to Norway on the Thursday to meet some youth leaders there. As they were to start there talk around a table (they had all in order, paper, pens, bibles and so on, ready to sit and discuss and talk about different things) and they said as we usually do let us just start with a prayer and give this talk and day over to God, and they planned for a 2 min prayer. But God had other plans!! As they started to pray God came so strongly they had to get down on the floor and pray, and they couldnt stop! They prayed for 2 hours! And one of the persons from Norway suddenly said he had a word from God, and then he started to prophecy nearly exactly the same prophecy that came throw Pastor Ulf Ekman in February last year about the young generation (its long so I wont write it here). Then an other guy suddenly said I see a map of Sweden! And I see small pins that mark every school in Sweden! And then suddenly he started there in the room to make this sound with his fingers, exactly like the girl!!, and said I see that every time I do this these pins catch fire! God had spoken and shown exactly the same things again!!!
Joakim told how now, today as he came back from Norway and went into his office, someone had put a BIG plastic sack there, and there was a little note on it saying this is only a little of what we have got rid of. He opened it and in it was broken CD:s, crashed video tapes, torn papers and so on.
He also told how many of the youth had come to him this last week and confessed sins they had done. Parents had called Joakim and told him how there children had became different persons! This thing that God is doing is not something cool and something on the surface, there is A LOT of repentance, the true fruit of revival! Hundreds of youth have meet God and are now totally filled with him! They are praying like never before and are prophesying over each other and even over Joakim! They are filled with God!!
Tonight at the youth meeting Joakim just told all this, to the ones that maybe hadnt heard, as all this has happened only in this week! Then he invited those young people forward who wanted to get it right with God, and put things behind them and go with what God is now doing, this mighty outpouring! Many, many young people went forward and we started to cry out to God! Wow! I have never been in anything like this before! I have got a taste of revival, throw tapes and books and other stories, but this, to be able to see it and be in it, was fantastic! Its like you cant believe it is happening!! I had to leave early as I had to accompany a friend who had to catch the train to Stockholm, but I guess they are still praying as Im sitting here writing. I will finish now and pray too. I want to be a part of this and get a hold of what God is doing and be filled with it myself so that I can be empowered to go out and win the lost!!
This is happening here!, in Uppsala! Wow! And is it happening here, it can happen were you are too!!
Be very very blessed!!!

A CHANGING WORLD - by Ron McGatlin ... ... (posted 11 August 2002)
We live in a changing world. The fast pace of life in this twenty first century helps to facilitate the rapid changes. God is moving in a significant way in this time, preparing us for the kingdom of God way of life. Some prophets are expecting some severe adjustments as the old Babylonian style ways must come down to make room for the New Jerusalem style of living. It is greatly reassuring to know that we are the children of the one in charge of heavenly affairs.
In this time, God is opening doors and supplying power to reach multitudes with redemption, healing, and deliverance from darkness into light. From where I sit reading hundreds of email reports of the presence and power of God moving around the world, I am convinced that the miraculous works of God are accelerating. Healing miracles are being reported in great numbers. Even the dead being raised to life is reported often today. Visions, prophecy, intense intercession, and revelation all seem to be increasing. God is pouring out to His people. Now is the time to move ahead with all God puts in our hearts to do.
Faith is increasing upon the earth. Recently my own faith moved to a new level as I watched skin cancers fall off my own arm. I have experienced miraculous healing before but never have I watched skin cancer fall off and the spots disappear. I was prayed for by a friend while in Texas and was setting at my computer a couple of weeks later when the largest rough spot with red around it just came loose and fell to the floor. I had several taken off my face a couple of months before and had already made an appointment to have those on my arm and one on my chest removed. I kept the appointment with the doctor who confirmed there was nothing there at all.
It is a pattern of God to pour out Himself to His people in preparation for difficult seasons. This is a joyous time of revival - a time of relationship and intimacy with God. A season in which we must connect and greatly value our relationships with God and His people - A time of coming together and working in unity to bring forth heaven's style of living on earth. A time to reach for the fulfillment of the prayer, "Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven."

GOD DOING GREAT THINGS IN DURBAN - SOUTH AFRICA ... (posted 7 August 2002)
By Pastor Danny Naidoo
I want to share what took place a week ago, some business men from a farm town called Umhlali got together and erected a 7000 seat tent, with a medical tent, counselling tent and a feeding tent.
These business men called all the farmers in the area and the surrounding centres to mobilize their farm workers and employees, organized and arranged 30 buses to pick up and leave people at their homes after the meeting. The meeting was awesome! The medical tent saw almost 1500 people treated for all kinds of sickness. Free medical treatment and medication was given and they were led to accept the LORD. The 7000 seat tent was too small, a few more hundred chairs were hired to accommodate the crowd. Almost 2500 people gave their hearts to the Lord.
It was awesome - so God is doing great things in South Africa - Durban

CONGO: REVIVAL AMONG THE PYGMIES ... (posted 14 November 2003)
Friday Fax 2003 Issue 41, 24 October
"Deep in Congo's jungle, over 100,000 Pygmies have come to Christ in the past 14 years," reports Dutch pastor and church growth researcher Bram Krol, who regularly visits Congo to train pastors and perform research. "Whole villages are turning to Christ, and the Holy Spirit is moving in the jungle as never before." Interestingly enough, few missionaries have visited the Pygmies. The small jungle inhabitants have themselves taken on the missionary challenge of bringing the Gospel to jungle villages through music, song and dance.
Hundreds of thousands, not dozens Krol discovered the Pygmy movement when speaking to Ds. Luxin, who works among them as a missionary in Evenaars Province. "I heard that dozens of Pygmies have become believers." "Dozens? More than one hundred thousand!" replied Luxin. 300,000 Kitwa-speaking Pygmies live hidden in the jungle, in an area four times as large as Holland. "The majority" have become Christians in the past 14 years, reports Krol, who regularly teaches at a theological college in Congo.
Following an invitation from two Pygmy Bible students, Krol flew to Mbandaka, travelled 90 miles up the Congo river and walked for a day to reach the first Pygmy village.
Refusal to accept decline
He was enthusiastically welcomed in every place he visited during his three-week tour of villages up to 120 miles into the jungle. Many villages, some of which are flooded, are developing their own cultural expressions of Christianity. Jungle life is hard; many Pygmies are isolated, socially disadvantaged and belong to the poorest of the poor, living by hunting and gathering tree fruits. They are often discriminated by the surrounding tribes and sold as slaved. Many Pygmies have poor self-esteem and have become apathetic, falling into alcoholism and drug addiction. Krol, though, sees a great opportunity in their encounter with Christ; many of the previously strongly heathen Pygmies have gained the strength to fight against social decline, and stand at the start of a significant process of change.

MORE ON UGANDAN REVIVAL ... (posted 23 October 2002)
Uganda: more than 1,000 churches in Kampala
The Evangelical Fellowship of Uganda published a study in the Summer of 2002, reporting that Kampala, Uganda's capital, now has over 1,000 Christian churches. The city has a population of some 1 million, with an extra 500,000 in the city during the day. "There are only 635 officially registered churches, but a large number of independent churches have been planted," according to the 'Fellowship of Ugandan Statisticians' research team, which examined mainly 'institutionalized churchs' with over 20 members, most of which belong to the National Fellowship of Born-Again Churches or the EFU (Evangelical).
More than half of the population attend Evangelical services The study shows that more than half of the population already visit Evangelically-oriented services, whereas attendance in the more traditional churches is declining. 'Lunch Hour Fellowships' are typical in Kampala, held between 12 noon and 2pm for those who work in the city. The attendance is mixed: politicians, policemen, taxi drivers and managers can frequently be found in the same groups.
72% born again!
In a report on the Charisma News website, Robert Kayanja, leader of Kampala's charismatic "Miracle Center Cathedral", says that 92% of Uganda's 24 million inhabitants describe themselves as Christians. Of those, "three quarters are truly born again," he says. The MCC auditorium, seating 10,500, is 'filled four times every week'. "25 years ago, 22% of the population were Muslims; today, that number is only 6%," he says.

REINHARD BONNKE IN KISUMU, KENYA ... (posted 28 November 2002)
Day five, the final gathering. Not less than 120,000 people stood eager and open to the Gospel. It brought the five days total to 186,261 Kenyans confessing Christ as their Savior, everyone signing with name and address and everyone to be cared for and guided into a church fellowship. Each person had been seen by one of the 4,222 trained church workers to ensure they understood their decision.
To the first mass concourse Reinhard had declared, I am not a healing evangelist. I am a salvation evangelist but I also minister to the sick. He has said before that we should not run after signs, but signs will follow the preaching of the Word. That is always true in CfaN campaigns and was so here again.
I wish this report could magically surround readers with the electric atmosphere of such a campaign. In remote and poor areas many feel forgotten, but not here â?? here was re-assurance, not only the presence of the CfaN team but the very evident presence of the Lord. The sightless saw, the speechless spoke, the un hearing heard again. Cancers melted away. Arthritics danced free of pain. A man, totally blind for four years, received sight, and it turned the whole Hindu family to Christ. A young man vigorously demonstrated his fitness, but until then he had been totally paralyzed down his left side.
A couple had come fourteen years ago, childless after eight years of marriage, despairing. Reinhard had prayed for them. Within one month the wife was pregnant. This time they brought the boy â?? their only child. The boy was weeping with the thought of it all, and Reinhard publicly dedicated this little family to the service of the Lord.
The entire campaign meetings were broadcast by West Kenya radio stations as well as in the city of Arusha in Tanzania. The phone rang constantly, bringing us accounts from the whole area of what God had done in healings and blessings. People we had never met had found new life in Jesus.
Fire ConferenceReinhard Bonnke's concern is not his own evangelistic success but the urgency of world evangelism. The concurrently running Fire Conference is an event of prime importance. Here again in Moi Stadium, Kisumu, 6300 delegates attended to draw encouragement and inspiration and help from the experience of both Reinhard and Peter van den Berg. The potential of thousands of Kenyans filled with the Spirit is beyond calculation. More can be achieved through one Fire conference than by any single 5-day crusade. Every delegate had hands laid upon them by both brothers Bonnke and van den Berg to enhance their spiritual life and effectiveness for God. The Pentecostal flame rested on the heads of thousands.

LONGING FOR GOD'S REVIVAL HERE IN THE PHILIPPINES! ... (posted 3 June 2003)
By Eman Abrea
Thank you so much for praying for us!
Gradually, I feel the powerful move of God in our midst! In fact, I would like to share to you about the conference that we made last week, our theme was "Missions On Fire." This was designed for the would be missionaries for the 10/40 Window Countries. In spite of the storm (strong wind, heavy rain and flood!) that we have had, we pursue it because we refuse to be under the bondage's of limitations and hindrances.
Praise the Lord we have had more than 50 leaders who attended the said training! God moved mightily and we experienced His powerful anointing! Glory to God! Now, they are very on fire to follow the Holy Spirit's direction regarding missions and church planting!
I'm still praying for my trip to China to plant church(es) in Shanghai, to disciple the new believers in Shenzen and Donguan and to strengthen the Filipino church(es) in Hong Kong. I'm praying that even if the Lord will give me only a one way ticket, I will still pursue my plan to go there! I don't care if there is SARS virus for the Lord is stronger than any powerful virus in the world! I don't want to be hindered or paralyzed by fear of SARS because we are called to live by faith. If we believe that God is with us, nothing can harm us! If we really have faith in Him, we need to be willing to take R-I-S-K to advance His kingdom and to set others free from the bondage of Satan!
If we are not willing to lay down our lives for Him, what then is the sense of Christianity? If the Muslim terrorists/suicide bombers are willing to sacrifice and lay down their lives for the cause of their faith to Allah, then what is the challenge of our faith? I do believe that one of the reasons why Christianity is overtaking by Islam is because we love our lives more than Christ! May God forgive us! May we experience His fresh love for Him in order to leave our comfort zones to follow His voice. We need God's zeal and fire in our hearts to propagate His love to all nations. May He consume us with His Spirit.
In Christ Alone,
Eman Abrea

AFRICA: CHARGED FOR REVIVAL ... (posted 4 July 2003)
Greetings Saints,
AN AMAZING HARVEST BEGINS
An outpouring continues that has touched, changed and restored God's people and is now beginning to bring in an amazing harvest of souls.I relayed in my last report how my African brother Ralph led one sick lady to the Lord today as he was going to the church. Another Muslim lady came by our house today and gave her life to Christ.
THIRSTY SOULS
Tonight was the second night of the crusade at Pastor Ralph's African Evangelical Church. The crowd was bigger than last night and I had spent almost all day with the Lord in prayer. Ralph fasted the whole day and so we were expectant. My first question to the crowd was "What will you build your life on? Fact or fiction?" I listed facts about the Bible and prophecies about Jesus. I told them that any good businessman can tell you that if you build your life on false information failure is sure. One fact we can all be sure of -- we were created with a thirst for God.
I preached about that thirst from John 4. Jesus knew the woman at the well was thirsty. He knew she was a sinner and He knew her past sins would be forgiven. He knew she had a mission to her village.
THE RESISTANCE BREAKS
I told the crowd He knows the same things about you and me. I asked them if they wanted to drink living water so they would never thirst again. Several hands went up. You could feel the last bit of spiritual resistance break over the church. They streamed forward until 20 stood at the altar. Ralph was so surprised he stammered during the translation! A church of 70 is now 90 -- and there are still two nights left! It was an amazing display of the power of the Gospel. One whole Muslim family came from one of the houses next door came to give their lives to Christ. They have heard preaching since last year without any success until tonight. Something has happened.
It feels like the heavens have truly opened as we have more people giving their lives to Christ than we can manage. I understand why I am to stay here for the time left with this church. God is moving and people are responding.
DRAWN FROM ACROSS TOWN
One of my favorite stories is about a man named Geoffrey. He was an older man in a business suit who was standing near the middle of the crowd. I watched him as I was preaching and he seemed to be listening to every word. I wondered who he was -- if he was a Muslim leader who had come to check us out. When I gave the altar call he came forward! Later Ralph shared his story with me.He had been visiting a friend in the area and was on his way home when he heard the singing at the crusade. He stopped to listen to the message and then went on home to think over what he had heard. He lives all the way across Dar es Salaam, a city of three million people. So he decided to take three buses to come back and hear the message tonight. He told Ralph, "No one has made me -- I have decided to give my life to Jesus."
It is incredible to see the Lord draw a man all the way across town to surrender his life. Could what we are now seeing be the beginning of the revival we have been waiting for? The atmosphere is so charged now over the church we go expecting miracles.
And the best ones are people giving their lives to Jesus.
In Africa,
Stephen Gray

SOUTHERN AFRICA: 1,000 NEW CHURCHES - DEAD ARE RAISED ... (posted 3 June 2003)
Suicidal man becomes Christian, dead are raised
"Dramatic events are not uncommon in AIDS- and poverty-plagued Africa, particularly when people become open to the Gospel through the working of God's Spirit," reports Montgomery. In Namibia, one man had already wrapped the barbed wire around his neck, ready to commit suicide, when he heard a voice telling him to go to the blue and white tent. He found Jesus, and left the barbed wire there as a souvenir.
Joyce was a secretary before she started evangelizing and planting churches full time. She planted two churches in northern Transkei, one with 50 members, the other with 300. Blom reports that God used Joyce to raise two people from the dead, one of whom now travels with her as an evangelist. Danie Vermeulen, a regional coordinator for DAWN in Africa, calls the concept of connecting traditional evangelization with training and church planting "the best church-planting model in southern Africa at the moment."
Southern Africa: 1,000 new churches through tent evangelism
"Every evening, some 100,000 people attend one of 500 tents belonging to a new movement focused on planting new Christian churches," writes Jim Montgomery, founder of the DAWN movement. The movement will probably plant some 1,000 new churches in 2003. It is financed entirely from Africa, and almost all evangelists and pastors are black Africans. Around 80% of the new believers join a church.
