Dear
brother or sister in Christ
I
have noticed in concurrence with some of your correspondents to your
website, a very great concern about the errors currently sweeping the Charismatic/Pentecostal
churches. This concern obviously, is very noticable especially in
the area of what passes for "Prophecy" in the vast majority
of Charismatic churches these days.
The
word of the Lord is especially rigorous in this area of the testing
of prophecy always, and for us to take the necessary action to
prevent the dissemination of that which is false.
Deuteronomy
18:21-22, "And you may say in your heart,"How shall we
know the word which the Lord has not spoken?"
"When
the prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the thing does not
come about or come true, that is the thing which the Lord has not
spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously."
1
John 4:1, "Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the
spirits to see whether they are of God; because many false prophets
have gone out into the world."
1
Thess.5:20-21, "Do not despise prophetic utterances, but
examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good."
Having
read last year a prophecy from your website, which disturbed my
spirit somewhat-- Graham Cook's prophecy concerning "Unparalleled
Favour" and invoking "vengeance"-- he himself placed
a time prediction of 1 year on the authenticity and assessment on its
efficacy. I would therefore like to ask, nearly 2 years after :-
a)
Was there "Unparalleled Favour" in the city and churches
of Port Elizabeth?
b)
What was the nature of this "Unparalleled Favour"?
c)
Did it result in an "unparalleled" increase in the number
of people entering the Kingdom of God in that area?
d)
What form did the "vengeance" take in the churches there?
Another
apposite reflection on this gifting was recently made by Tony
Pearse, Director of Messianic Testimony here in the UK, I quote
directly from his article on False Prophets :-
"As
we have already noted in the political sphere, false prophecies lead
to a division between those who accept them, who are eventually
disillusioned, and those who reject them who are condemned by the
false prophet and blamed for what is going wrong.
That
appears to be what is happening in the contemporary charismatic
movement. Where the spirit of false prophecy dominates, the true
prophet will be ostracised and there will be an attempt to intimidate
him into silence. Many of us who have sounded warnings about the
current movement in the church have found ourselves on the receiving
end of threats that our criticisms will result in judgment and
disaster coming upon us."
I
have heard and read many "prophecies" of the
"unparalleled revivals" taking place here in the UK from
South African sources! The truth of the matter is, however, that
there are more mosques being built in the UK than there are churches
being opened. In fact there is a current move afoot of many born-
again believers moving out of the Charismatic/Pentecostal churches
because of the heresy endemic in many of these churches!!
I
look forward to a reply from those brothers and sisters in Christ
who have been spiritually observant in the Port Elizabeth area during
July 2000 to July 2001.
Yours
in Christ Jesus

Johnson (Rev.) Oxford, UK

Response
to posting by Ron Johnson on 7 April 2002 concerning Graham Cooke's
word on the Year of the Lord's Favour:
Ron,
LINUXDUDE, Charmaine&ldots;
(An
old item on the Discussion forum of Port Elizabeth Church Net
PROHPHECY IN THE CHURCH)
Have
you FOLK spoken to Graham Cook on the matter?
Graham
Cook's prophecy concerning "Unparalleled Favour"
I
find that too often, in fact oh so often, we neglect:
Mat
18:15
(AMP)
If your brother wrongs you, go and show him his fault, between you
and him privately. If he listens to you, you have won back your brother.
(BBE)
And if your brother does wrong to you, go, make clear to him his
error between you and him in private: if he gives ear to you, you
have got your brother back again.
(CEV)
If one of my followers sins against you, go and point out what was
wrong. But do it in private, just between the two of you. If that
person listens, you have won back a follower.
Please
let me know what he had to say in defence of himself.
Charmaine
if you can perhaps help in contacting Graham?
Kindest
Blessings

Response
to posting by Ron Johnson on 7 April 2002 concerning Graham Cooke's
word on the Year of the Lord's Favour:
Having
listened to much of Graham's teaching over the last few years, and
having recently come across the word concerning the Favour of the
Lord, I'd like to share with you some feedback and food for thought
to what you have posted.
You
asked whether it was true that the churches of Port Elizabeth had
experienced unparalleled favour. It would seem that your implied
answer is that they did not.
What
is very clear to me from listening to this prophecy is that there is
a key role to be played by those who want to enter into this place of
favour. In other words, the prophecy cannot be passively received, it
has to be actively pursued. It was speaking of what is possible, if
people press into this place with God.
There
are a number of scriptures that echo this theme :
The
last part of James 4:2 - "You do not have, because you do not
ask God."
Mark
11:24 - "Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer,
believe that you have received it, and it will be yours."
Matthew
9:29 "Then he touched their eyes and said, "According to
your faith will it be done to you""
We
are required by God to ask of Him and to believe.
In
the CD of this teaching, Graham says:
"it
is possible for you to go through this year and not receive a tenth
of what God has for you..."
"don't
wait for favour to come to you, run after it..."
"it
isn't that in one year from now, the taps will be turned off and the
favour will stop, this is a year to get you back to the place where
you should always have been living with God..."
It
is thus clear to me that this word is still very much in place, and
people can still enter into it. Jesus's declaration of Isaiah 61 did
not have a time limit attached to it.
As
concerns vengeance, one of Graham's key points was that, by entering
into victory in the areas of our lives where the enemy has oppressed
us, we are well placed to turn around and free others from those same
difficulties. In this way, we get vengeance on the enemy.
Graham
is a man of integrity and character who lives out what he teaches.
He is regarded by many as a father in the spirit, and a father in the
area of prophecy. His teachings have been a huge blessing to me and
to many others.
If
anyone would like a CD with this teaching on it, me
and I will send it to you.
Kind
regards
Craig

Is
this a false prophet?
Benjamin
Baruch - Author of "The Day of the LORD is at Hand" claims
he is not a prophet, but insists that he hears the audible voice of
God - read these EXACT quotes of (Ben and God speaking) taken from
the book...
"And
when the Lord speaks to you, who can but prophesy? I have been able
to hear the voice of the Lord from my youth. I was surprised to learn
recently that the majority of Christians have never heard His
voice." (BEN)
"I
have cancelled your hotel reservation" (GOD)
"When
you get to the hotel, don't get upset, just sit in the lobby and
wait for me. I will get you a room. I only wanted to move you." (GOD)
"When
you get to the hotel in Anaheim, a man who I have been chasing for
many years will crash into your car in the parking lot. Get out of
the car and speak to him the words that I give you. And don't worry
about the car. It will just be a little ding. And besides, it's My
car." (GOD)
"The
Lord says to say to you, if you don't return to Him and repent of
your sin, He is going to kill you. This is your last warning!" (BEN)
"I
created this entire country! I know where you are and you are in the
wrong place! Get back on the bus. It is leaving. I don't want to have
to argue with you again." (GOD)
"At
this point the Lord was literally yelling at me. And what did I do?
I thought to myself, I know the Lord wants me on this bus, so I
better get on it. But if this is a mistake, He won't hear the end of
it, until He gets me out of this mess" (BEN)
"That
is why I am writing this book. Dear reader, you are being warned.
Listen to his voice!" (BEN)
"The
highest prophetic office is held by those who can hear the Lord's
voice directly, and who have been chosen to speak to the Lord face to
face." (BEN)
*****The
Benjamin Baruch ministries claim to have witness JANET RENO on LARRY
KING LIVE give her definition of what a CULT is. Upon investigation,
this supposed interview with Reno NEVER HAPPENED and has been
documented as a HOAX and URBAN LEGEND - Even the 700 Club aired a TV
show about this RENO URBAN LEGEND being just that - AN URBAN LEGEND.
Yet,
the the prophet Benjamin Baruch claims he witnessed this, yet out of
MILLIONS of viewers, no one else has stepped forward.
What
more evidence is needed to expose a false prophet? Or can a prophet
make these false allegations and still be a TRUE MESSENGER?

It
is two years down the line after we had Graham Cooke's prophecy and
I am in the church concerned
Myself
went thro deep waters during this time and have come thro with a
deeper knowledge of God
1.
If a prophecy is spoken by a false prophet, God will deal with him
and harshly. No building not founded on God can stand
2.
It is time to stop playing church and get on into a deep intimate
relationship with God and hear His voice for ourselves and if a
prophet does speak, he will then be confirming what we already know.
3.
The Holy Spirit is a gentleman and the days of Joel are upon us, and
those who seek God's face earnestly.
4.
We dont have time to get into squabbles in the church, it is
mobilisation time. Are you doing the following
Loving
the Lord God with all your heart going forth
Declaring
that today is the day of salvation
Are
you then discipling the nations are you hearing from God and letting
your heart ache for the lost and those plunging to a lost eternity?
Stay
based in the word and be alert to the things that can deceive the elect

Genade
en Vrede vir almal , en ek Groet julle in die naam van Jesus
Christus onse Here
Ek
benodig raad asb ?
4
Biduurgangers oorgedra. Die volgende het intussen plaasgevind.
(Verskoon
die skryfstyl asgevolg van persooonlike Identiteit.)
Die
volgende vrae het by my opgekom:
As
ons dan gewaarsku word waarom luister ons nie. Wat is die waarde van
die Profeet in die kerk as niemand ag slaan op sy word. Waarom
beproef ons nie die Profetiese word ?
Het
ons maar net hoorders geraak ? Waar is die smag na die Geestelike,
na heiligwording ?
Kan
enige persoon my se wat het hier gebeur asb?
