PLEASE LOBBY PROVINCIAL LEGISLATURES 16 September 04 Dear friends Please send a submission to your Provincial Legislature on the Choice on Termination of Pregnancy Amendment Bill. This bill will be discussed by your provincial parliament within a month. Please send a submission to the chairperson of your provincial health committee and register your opposition to this bill. This bill will: * Make abortion more accessible by assigning more facilities * Allow Nurses to perform abortions * Deregulate abortion by shifting responsibility from National to Provincial MEC's * Put further pressure on overburdened medical budgets and staff If you have already made a submission on the bill, please send it again, this time to the NCOP. We are dealing with a totally new section of government who have so far received no public input on this harmfull bill. Please send your submission to both the Chair of the National Council of Provinces Health Committee, Mrs J.M.Masilo, as well as to the chairperson of the committee of your province.
