INTERNATIONAL LIFE CHAIN - REPORT

Dear Friends

3 October, was International Life Chain Sunday. Over 1 million Christians in over 900 locations worldwide including Cape Town, Bloemfontein, Durban, Saldanha Bay and Pretoria stood for the right to life of pre-born babies.

Life Chains have been held every year since 1987 in the USA and since 1992 in South Africa. Officially, over 300 000 babies have been killed through abortion in South Africa since 1 February 1997 – legally.

In Cape Town, 200 participants stood along the island on Buitengracht Street, downtown Cape Town, from 13h45 to 15h45 holding placards proclaiming "Abortion Kills Babies". Participants wonderfully supported orphans of Talitha House by bringing maternity and baby items to the Giant Stork Party at the demonstration.

Thank you to each and every one who participated in the events around South Africa. May the Lord bless those who are faithful in standing for righteousness.

Please pray for Dr Albu van Eeden, of Doctors for Life, who will be debating the legalisation of active euthanasia LIVE on national television.

The details are as follows:
Date: Sunday 10 October
Time: 12h00 (noon)
Channel: SABC 2
Programme: "The Big Question"
Theme: Should active euthanasia be legal?

A telephone number will be provided during the programme which the public can phone to cast their vote with regards to their views on the issue discussed. We would like to encourage you to phone and cast your votes.

Yours in His service
Charl van Wyk
