Complaint : Movie - SAVED
To
whom it may concern
A
few days ago I took my children to go and see the move
Cinderella. One of the trailers that were shown was of
the upcoming movie SAVED. I was utterly shocked to see
the content of the trailer (especially as a trailer before a movie
aimed at children!). In the trailer (and obviously the movie) Jesus
is the main topic and followers of Jesus are bluntly and openly
portrayed as crazy, dishonest and misled. I understand that many
South Africans are not followers of Jesus, but I have always wanted
to believe that we have respect for other people. Respect for
different religions is actively taught in our schools to our
children. I would never DREAM of approving of a film were Mohammed
and his followers were depicted as such stupid characters.
It
would be interesting to hear how authorities in our country can
rationalise the showing of such a movie. A response to this email
would be appreciated since I would want to widely distribute it to
the Christian community
Best wishes

I
wish to object in the strongest possible terms to the screening of
the film 'Saved', the trailer of which is being shown at the
Ster-Kinekor cinema at the Bridge, Port Elizabeth. The film is an
international mockery of the Christian faith, Christian moral values
and Christian schools, as well as defaming the character of Jesus
Christ by blatant misrepresentation of His person and teachings. The
public screening of the film is blasphemy and a violation of the
rights of Christians.
I
hereby request that the above-mentioned movie be withdrawn from circulation.
