1.1 South Africans today are under great pressure to adapt to changing circumstances in all areas of life and this certainly does not exclude the challenges on the Values that hold South African Families together. 1.2 The Christian Family Value System has never been under a greater threat and at such a low ebb in South Africa. 1.3 Sexual promiscuity, drugs, pornography, abortion, euthanasia, homosexuality and promotion of self above all else are just a few of the symptoms of the decline of the Christian Family Value System and Moral Values. 1.4 The most disturbing contributing factor to the decline of Christian Family Values is the fact that the bible has been outlawed in our courts and submission to God Almighty has been removed from the preamble of our country's constitution. 1.5 Our country is considered investor unfriendly which in turn has a negative effect on business and job opportunities resulting in the highest unemployment rate in our history. Poverty, crime and violence is a direct result. 1.6 Although there are 121 different church groups and approximately 75,000 churches with a membership of 30 Million Christians, (80% of the total population) the perception given by Government is that Christians are seen as minority groups and therefore labeled fundamentalist. 1.7 The Christian Majority Voice is not being collectively heard and the time has come for Christians to stand up and be united with one voice, protecting and enhancing the Christian Family Value System. |

2.1 Many Christians feel the need for a vehicle that is family and church friendly, an organisation that easily transcends all cultural, political, social, economic and denominational boundaries. 2.2 The Christian Coalition is the answer to much prayer and was born during March 1996 in Durban, South Africa. A co-operative movement was formed standing for the restoration of the Christian Family Value System in society. A national structure was established which was further broken down into provincial, regional and district representation. This has enabled us to work through ministers fraternals, churches, and other individual Christian Family Value Subscribers whereby we can be relevant and sensitive to people at grassroots level. 2.3 Provincial structures are flexible and will take into account the varying needs and cultures of the grassroots Christian Family Value subscribers in each province. 2.4 The non-profit trust is headed up by a multicultural board of trustees whose common bond is the Lordship of Jesus Christ in their lives and whose objective it is to assist in the restoration of the Christian Family Value System.
