FELLOW LEADERS IN CHRIST:
South Africa has experienced the winds of change like few modern countries and we have also seen the Hand of God and the efforts of His people ensure those winds of change came peacefully.

In deep humility and repentance we must acknowledge our failure to act as a collective in the past. It is in that humility that we will grow closer to healing the hurts that many carry with them and through repentance will we be restored to knowing and fulfilling God's will.

In this process, we must learn, unlearn and relearn, toward a future of our own creation.

AND NOW.......
Urged by Jesus Christ and the brokenness of our communities, Church leaders in Port Elizabeth/Uitenhage call an assembly to seek God and His way forward in order to promote the Christian culture of united witness and action.

We, as a Church have removed ourselves from society and become irrelevant to a new generation. A generation that seeks a way forward. A nation needing visionary leadership. Leadership that recognises the needs of the community. Recognises our purpose and duty.......TO BE SALT AND LIGHT. "People support what they create and resist what they are excluded from." Margaret Wheatley.

PECLA is not so much an event as a process. A process of gathering the Christian leadership together to unity, whereby we can transform the Church and Society, acting together on community issues and speak with one prophetic voice.

SO WHAT EXACTLY IS PECLA?
Simply put....PECLA is you. A Christian committed to the unity of Christ's Church and the purpose of that Church. PECLA is me. PECLA is the Church in our area sharing a collective vision and acting on it.

Almost five years ago now the Lord started raising people up. People with same vision.

The ripple became a wave and as the waves came together it became a tide of change. Reconciliation workshops were held and many tears were shed breaking the bonds of the past. Eyes were opened to prejudices held deep inside. Meetings took place to discuss a coming together of his people.

NOT IN ONE PLACE BUT ALL OVER THE CITY! DIFFERENT GROUPS ALL UNAWARE OF THE OTHER. FROM ALL PARTS AND GROUPS. GOD'S HAND WAS MOVING! LAST YEAR SAW HIM BRING THE GROUPS TOGETHER AND THE VISION OF PECLA WAS BORN.

In summary, PECLA is an assembly of leadership coming together and jointly building a collective vision to take us into the future. A vision that is shared by all. BE THERE.

IF THE CHURCH DOES NOT WRITE THE WORLD'S AGENDA, THEN THE WORLD WILL WRITE THE CHURCH'S AGENDA!
We need to look forward. Where will the Church be in ten years time? Will we be the agent of change. Recognised, respected and speaking with authority?

WE CAN AND MUST BE A TRANSFORMING PRESENCE IN THE COMMUNITY!
Despite our past, through unity in Christ we can look forward to a vibrant, obedient and effective Church. Ongoing missions that are community driven & Church based. Providing solutions to the many forces of influence around us. i.e Poverty, Unemployment, Greed & Corruption, Crime & Justice and the hopelessness of our people. BUT ONLY THROUGH UNITY.
