TRINITY BROADCASTING NETWORK
TRINITY BROADCASTING NETWORK - EAST CAPE BROADCASTS
These originate from Bisho and we have now installed a 20 kilowatt TV transmitter which is being received in many part of Port Elizabeth. We found that this was second prize to being able to place a repeater transmitter, application for which has been turned down by the licensing authority on three occasions when we applied. Here we would ask for prayer as we entered into litigation for the placement of a transmitter in Port Elizabeth and felt we had a strong case in this connection. Unfortunately we lost our High Court case however was, after arguing our leave to appeal were granted this leave and are now waiting for the court date on which our appeal will be heard in the Appeal Court, Bloemfontein. Please pray for this case as Port Elizabeth together with other issues against which we have appealed will be considered and our " conditions of broadcasting" will determine how we operate in the future.CONDITIONS OF BROADCASTING - BISHO TV STATION
Without going into all the details of what we have appealed against, let it be suffice to say that the "conditions of broadcasting" under which our licence was renewed last year are completely "unworkable" and need to be revised. It is for this reason that we decided to go to court as the Licencing Authority had placed such difficult conditions on us we were basically forced to take the matter to Court. These conditions affect the entire TBN terrestrial network and this means that all the 8 transmitters which we have linked to cover large parts of the East Cape are all affected. We desperately need the prayer support of all who read the newsletter as we are firmly of the opinion that the attack on the licence of TBN is a spiritual battle and needs divine intervention.
As Dr Paul Crouch in a letter to us said "we will fight to the very gates of hell and back again to retain the ministry of TBN and the broadcasts in the East Cape of SA" This shows how serious and important this matter is and how we need the support of the Christians across our province to pray for the TBN operation.

TBN SATELLITE SERVICE
On a much happier note we are pleased to report that the TBN satellite service which was commenced in May 2002 is doing fine. God is really blessing our efforts and we have seen a tremendous increase in phone calls for prayer at the Prayer Call In Centre which is situated in River Park, East London. Last month we had the highest number of calls since commencement of the call-in centre and this passed the 5000 call mark. This was besides callers who called for information such as bank account details and supplying of the newsletter. These calls were from people who needed spiritual help and wanted prayer. The service has just been moved to Channel 77 on the DStv bouquet and this is a better channel for easier location. All the administration is carried out at River Park in East London and the final control and playout is carried out from a new facility which we have purchased in Randburg.
This was necessary so as to be close to Multichoice and be able to receive the signal from the USA via satellite and then to mix in the South African content and send it to the signal distributor in Randburg.
We are happy to also announce that we are well up with the latest technological developments having installed the first "time delay" computer system for broadcasting in the nation. We visited Spain where this system has been installed by TBN for Europe and we will shortly have this system operating in South Africa and on the DSTV bouquet. What it means to the local viewers is that we will be able to add or subtract or move any of the programmes as well as have them synchronized time wise which means for example that if the main TBN programme "Praise the Lord" is broadcast at 7pm in the USA then it will also be broadcast at 7pm here and around the world on the new system when it is in place. This is a R2,5million investment but we believe that is the right way to go and as such keep up with the best in technology and apply it locally.
Also we are given to understand from Telkom that we are first "digital" fibre optic installation which they have installed so we are a guineapig as well as a show piece for them. This installation is at present under construction and when completed will also improved the signal quality on the satellite signal on Channel 77.
As an arm to the local church we believe that TBN has a definite role to play and we would like all the readers of the newsletter to realise this and to pray and support us as we seek to provide the best in Christian TV to meet the needs of body, mind, soul and spirit for all age groups.
