NEW VOLUNTEERS NEEDED We aim to provide support to broken and hurting people and also to fulfill the great commission to reach people for Jesus. This is a unique ministry, because it is there to help all people, both Christians and non Christians, with widely divers problems and issues. Often people find it easy to talk to us, because they can be assured that confidentiality is of the utmost importance. We would like people to become friends of Telefriend and be involved in whatever way they can. If you would like to be a Telehelper, we have two schools coming up this year. UPDATES An open letter to the churches in Port Elizabeth Dear Pastor/To whom it may concern I greet you all in the precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ who is soon returning for a Church without spot or wrinkle. The following letter is only to inform you of our first Telefriend Counselling School for the year of 2001. Yes, believe it or not the year 2000 is behind us and the first true millennium is starting to tick off. Telefriend is an interdenominational telephone counselling ministry, desiring to work with the churches in Port Elizabeth in the counselling and follow-up ministries. The valuable training we give could be taken back to your churches and be a blessing to your own ministries. Well, the following information would be valuable when considering sending or personally attending our first counselling training school for this year: a) The training starts on the 3rd of February at 8h30 on the Saturday and then at 19h30 on Monday and Wednesday to the 17th March. 2001. b) The cost is R150pp, R200 per couple. Groups of 5 or more would cost R650. Groups of 10 or more would pay R100pp. c) The venue will be at the Walmer Christian Outreach Centre.(c/o 9th and Villiers Rd). Then lastly we are inviting you to our info days at 19h00 on the 17th and 22nd of January 2001 at Harvest Christian Church where a minimum deposit will be accepted, better insight would be obtained and questions will be answered. TBN is advertising the PE Telefriend phone number for the Umtata and surrounding areas. The response has been overwhelming but unfortunately we do not have many Xhosa speaking telehelpers. Our need is therefore great. During the broadcast we can receive as much as 20 calls.
