TRANSFORMATION AND SPIRITUAL MAPPING NOTES FOR PORT ELIZABETH INTERCESSORS
THE
ULTIMATE FOCUS IS THE GLORY OF GOD THE FATHER THROUGH JESUS
CHRIST.
CONTENTS: TRANSFORMATION
SPIRITUAL MAPPING
These notes have been compiled from several sources, including the books Breaking Strongholds in Your City edited by Peter Wagner and Informed Intercession by George Otis Jr, and the Spiritual Mapping cassette tape series by Gerda Leithgöb (Herald Ministries). The aim of these notes is to extract the bare-bones information to give those intercessors who do not have the time to access this information a background to the concepts of transformation and spiritual mapping. I have left out all the examples, case studies and Scripture references from the sources. Needless to say, there is much to be learnt from these in themselves. Thus, if you feel it is Gods heart for you to get involved in the transformation of PE, I strongly recommend that you familiarise yourself with the source material to ensure you are informed. Bear in mind that transformation of the scale anticipated is going to require a long period of disciplined work, and a few weeks spent in learning will be an invaluable investment. We do not want to make the same mistakes that other communities have made that have already gone down the same route we have started. There really is no excuse for this considering the amount and quality of the information that is available to us. Informed Intercession by George Otis Jr is a particularly valuable book that describes in a step-by-step way how to map a community spiritually. I have not repeated all these steps in these notes, as they cannot really be condensed any further without loss. I have also left out a large section defending and justifying the use of spiritual mapping, assuming that most readers will trust that this is a God ordained tool. If you are in doubt about this, read the book. I do hope these notes are readable and useful to you, and inflame your interest in transforming Port Elizabeth. If you want to find out more about transformation in PE and the conference in November, please contact African Enterprise (041 373-2007 ) or view the Transformations web page /transformations.
