Copyright © 2002 Propheticfire.com During the past 2 months at Meeting on the Mountain we have been seeking the face of the Lord regarding His purposes for the church and nations in Africa. We are continually receiving scriptures, visions and understanding from the Lord regarding His will and plans for the nations. In this bulletin we will share some of the insight we have received through the study of the scriptures and prophetic visions received during the past 3 years. I am also including a prophetic vision received at last year's Newlands Transformation event, where 45 000 gathered to pray. This year, on 21 March, many other cities will join Cape Town to pray. I believe that this vision is very relevant towards to the implementation of the purposes of the Lord in Africa. Blessings, Johan Boot   Focus upon Africa Little more than a hundred and twenty years ago, much of Africa was still untamed wilderness. Then two groups of Europeans moved into Africa for entirely different reasons. The colonists were filled with greed and came to Africa to strip the continent of it mineral riches. Yet the Lord used them to build railway lines, roads and cities. By contrast the missionaries came with the gospel to evangelize and established schools and hospitals. They opened Africa to the western world and were extremely effective in reaching the nations of Africa. For example by 1900 there were less than 3 percent Christians in Zambia. Today almost 95 percent of the population claim to belong to the Christian faith. Similar statistics exists for most nations in Africa south of the Sahara. Africa has gone through different periods in the past hundred and twenty years. There have been three distinct periods of plus minus 40 years each. From 1870 till 1914 (entrance) many European nations entered and began to colonize Africa. From 1914 till mid 1950 (harvest) these nations built up Africa’s infrastructure, ruled its nations and the gospel spread across Africa. From mid 1950 until 1994 (liberation) with the new black government in South Africa, the peoples of Africa gradually regained their independence. I believe that Africa has entered the next forty-year season in its history. This season (foundations?) will be a time of laying biblical foundations, building up the nations and Christian governments. Since 1990, when President Chiluba declared Zambia a Christian nation, other heads of state have also publicly declared their faith in Christ. The seeds of the gospel sown by the missionaries are finally producing a harvest amongst Africa’s top executives and politicians. The Lord is removing the liberation rulers (Kaunda, Mugabe, etc) with men and women he desires to lead their nations into true liberty. Yet, these seeds need to grow until a mighty forest of godly men and women arise, and Africa might become a holy and well pleasing sacrifice unto the Lord.   South Africa I believe that South Africa needs to find her prophetic purpose amongst the nations of Africa, if it desires to be used and exalted by the Lord. While South Africa has a unique calling, many in the Church are only moved to pray against something (comfort being shaken?), instead of seeking the Lord on what He would have us do. The Lord will take care of our problems as we obey His voice and calling in Africa. Amongst other things, South Africa is a foundational country. 350 years ago (1652) the Dutch brought the gospel to the southern tip of Africa. Since then Cape Town has been the foundational (mother) city from which most of the development and progress has entered Africa. Through its developed infrastructure, the Lord will use South Africa during the next 40-year season to serve the rest of Africa. She should serve as a foundation upon which Africa’s other nations will build. The Lord desires to use South Africa to usher in this next phase of His plan for the nations of Africa. In addition to this, the Lord will from South Africa release apostles and prophets to bring a foundational understanding into the church of Africa. Most of Africa has an evangelistic and pastoral understanding of the church, due to the harvesting model presented by the missionary/evangelistic outreaches during the past decades. Today there is a tremendous need for leadership and foundational training in Africa. Most of Africa’s believers’ understanding is still rooted in their cultural heritage which is closely intertwined with ancestral/witchcraft beliefs. The Lord desires a cultural revolution in Africa. Not towards a western culture, but a Christ-centered one.   Key foundational issues There are certain foundational issues which need to be brought into the church in Africa. These include:  * Building versus harvesting Africans have traditionally harvested from season to season, yet in God’s heart they must begin to build from generation to generation and layer upon layer. Then what is being built will stand for generations to come.  * Principles versus witchcraft Most tribes and villages have been controlled by witchcraft and fear for centuries. Much of the church's understanding is still based upon these roots, instead of biblical foundational principals which leads to life and liberty.  * Fathers versus chiefs A chief’s significance lays in the control of his people, while a father’s significance lays in release of his sons. Chiefs gather for influence. Fathers releases for influence. * Unity of the faith versus unity of the brotherhood The tribal spirit needs to be replace by the Spirit of Christ. The understanding of the one new man in Christ consisting of many different peoples, all called the sons and daughters of God, needs to be established in the hearts and minds of Christians.   Prophetic times and seasons Through various visions and words we believe the following things are due to happen in Africa in the next 5 to 10 years. Some are signs of the times, others are warnings, while others are words of wisdom, purposed to give the Church direction and insight into the things which the Lord desire for us to do.  * Peace in Africa In 1999 the Lord spoke regarding peace coming to Africa after 2000 and that there would be peace for 5 years. Recently I again saw a white flag over Africa with a huge ‘5’ printed on it. I believe that from this year we will see peace established in many nations which have been trapped in war. I believe that the Lord will allow a window of 5 years for Africa to be opened up, so that His purposes might be done through an obedient Church. Since January 2001 many instigators of war have died (Kabila in Congo, Savimbi in Angola) and that the Lord will pave the way for peace for Africa. Robert Mugabe must be careful to allow God’s purposes for peace to be established, otherwise we believe that he will also die or be removed in the near future.  * Highway in Africa Through various words and visions the Lord has been speaking regarding the establishment of a highway into Africa. Recently I also saw how the Lord were raising key men across Africa and connecting them in the Spirit. I believe that many different networks of ministries will be established in the next 5 years. The Lord desires to link and unite His body in Africa. He will change the political landscape even further in preparation for this. Here is an extract from the Africa 1999 word (full word at www.propheticfire.com): "I will shake governments and leaders and many who are now at power will be replaced and the political landscape will change as My people will pray. I will bring a time of peace after 2000 and I will open up many borders and doors to allow My Word to travel in and out of Africa. But more than this I will begin to unite My generals in Africa to stand together as one and to walk with Me. Together they will stand and pray and will confront and counsel presidents and leaders and will speak the word of God unashamedly."  * Natural disasters From 2005 till 2008 a great drought will strike much of central and southern Africa. It will cause many nations to turn to the Lord and seek His face. Also in central east Africa earthquakes and volcanic eruptions will alter the course of rivers and bring great suffering. I believe that this will be in judgment of ancient covenants made with the demonic world.   Pray for Africa Please pray for Africa. The Lord has a divine purpose for all her peoples. Pray that we might all be faithful to the work the Lord has given to us.   Prophetic Word received at the Cape Christian Celebration, Newlands (March 2001) I saw a group of leaders in the church walking along a path. They were from different denominations, cultures and races. They came to huge gates. There was a sign on the gates: "The Gates of Unity." An angel came from the side and spoke to me. "These are the Gates of Unity. These gates will now be opened because men in authority have come together in unity. Yet before the blessings of the Lord will fill the church and Cape Town, there needs to come a unity in the Spirit. Today there is a unity of authority, but true unity comes when men lay down their own authority and serve one another in humility and love." I saw how the angel opened the gates and the men were allowed to pass through it. They came to a barren valley. I was surprised not to see blessing, but only a barren field. The Lord stood at the one side and said, "Before the rain of the blessing of God will fall, there needs to come the death of selfishness and pride. True unity and reconciliation can only come through the work of the cross, so that one new man in the Spirit might arise." The angel then gave to each of these men a book to eat. Upon each book was written, "The Ministry of Reconciliation." As they tasted it, each of these men ate it with great difficulty because it was bitter. Some of them paused from time to time, while others completely resisted. Those who ate the book were transformed. Slowly they became completely snow-white as the light of the Lord entered them. I saw how robes and cloaks of the flesh and human wisdom and traditions fell off, and the Lord clothed them with new garments. Those who resisted to eat of the book were taken to the one side by the angel. There they were given a cup to drink. There was an inscription upon the cup, "The Love of the Lord." Then the Lord spoke, "Unless you are touched by My love and allow Me to heal and restore you, you will not eat this book of the Ministry of Reconciliation." As these men drank of the cup of love, I saw how scales fell from their eyes, and they received a deep understanding of the love of the Lord. They were then again given the from the book to eat. I knew that the more a person ate of the book the sweeter it became. Some were completely unwilling to eat from the book and was taken back through the gates. Then the angel led the men to an altar. Upon this stone altar was an inscription: "The altar of love." Then the Lord said, "Unless each one of you are willing to lay down your life for your brother you will not see My redemption come upon this land." I saw how one by one these men laid down their lives upon the altar. As a person laid there it would disappear after a while and the next person would ascend the altar. "This is the death of the life of each of these groups. Through death I will be able to birth new life in this nation. The old order of pride and selfishness is being replaced by love and humility. Each one will live to bring life to another." I then saw how a new man arose from the altar. This man was completely transparent and radiated the glory of the Lord. He did not represent any of the old divisions, only the newness of Christ. Then I saw how the Lord poured His love into him. He became filled with radiating love and compassion, truth and righteousness. "When My love touches you and you allow Me to transform you through the work of the cross, you will become a vessel of My grace and glory. Without love you are nothing." The angel then gave a trumpet to this man. Upon the trumpet was an inscription: "The Rain of Restoration". I then saw how this man changed into 12 men, each with a trumpet in his hand. They split up and each went to a hilltop. They turned towards one another and started to blow their trumpets. As they blew, it started to rain. Yet it was not normal rain, but the rain of love. It rained continuously and the valley of barrenness was turned into the valley of plenty. I saw how a spirit of death and violence, abuse and strife departed from the land. The blood crying out from the land was silenced and the love of the Lord flowed into the ground. I saw multitudes coming to this place to see the life that has come forth.
