A feeling of immense joy flooded the Vuyisile Mini Square (Market Square) in front of the City Hall in Gqeberha (PE) as Christians from all walks of life came together to worship and celebrate the ascension of Jesus Christ, our King, reports PEFM 87.6 who hosted the event today.
Although not a recognised public holiday, many people took time off work to attend the gathering (some travelling from as far as Queenstown) and the square was filled with songs of praise and prayers for the city. Attendees were encouraged by pastors from different churches around Nelson Mandela Bay and led in worship by Roar Worship. The end of the event saw many lives saved as people responded to an altar call, reports the radio station.
Pastor Joan Keeling, who led a prayer slot calling on God for much-needed rain in the area told Gateway News that a standout feature of the event was the diversity of the crowd and the “tremendous vibe with great participation from the congregation”.
